About the Program

Goals & Objectives

After six years of serving Santa Clara County’s youth, young adults, and their families through educational resources and initiatives that destigmatize behavioral health, To Be Honest will close on April 12, 2024. Please read our FAQ below to learn more about this news and how you can stay involved with Momentum for Health.

As a program, To Be Honest aimed to reduce the stigma surrounding behavioral health among youth, young adults and their families in Santa Clara County through education that ultimately normalized mental illness and substance use issues. The program provided youth with a basic understanding of behavioral health, ways in which to maintain it, and a deeper understanding into their current state of mental health with an online screening. In addition, To Be Honest provided creative platforms, including an art contest and podcast, for young people to express themselves and share their own behavioral health stories.

To Be Honest was created to prevent youth from experiencing the negative side effects of an untreated mental illness or substance use issue and provide educational opportunities to youth so that they understand how to recognize the initial symptoms of a mental illness and substance use issue and seek assistance when needed.
